The Challenge

As Bolster added features and expanded our platform, we kept searching for ways to optimize the recruiter experience. During our discovery process, we found that recruiters faced difficulties in manually creating and tracking target lists. The existing process was inconsistent, time-consuming, and limited transparency and collaboration with clients.

The Process

During our offsite, we conducted a company-wide product session to gather feedback on our 2025 roadmap. Target Lists were the top item requested by our recruiters and recognized as a big opportunity for us to develop a better solution than other executive recruiting platforms.

We conducted a session where stakeholders selected features they felt would provide the greatest value for recruiters.
Company lists were being tracked off platform in Google Sheets.
Wireframes were used to collect feedback and establish alignment between the product and engineering teams.
UI exploration for company tiles.

Solution

We created a solution that stores lists of companies and aggregates data from Crunchbase and People Data Labs, unlocking additional features for both recruiters and clients. Users can view rich data about each company directly on the platform and automatically track the number of candidates from each target company.

Results

Recruiters gained a central location to store company target lists, which improved client engagement on the platform, reduced the time spent gathering data about companies, and increased transparency by displaying the number of candidates from each target company.
